Risk of Death from Surgery Sees Tremendous Decline

Surgery is safer worldwide according to a new study in the Lancet.

The findings show the risk of dying during surgery or in the first two days after have dropped nearly 90 percent over the past 50 years.

Researchers say improvements in anesthesia are the biggest reason why.
