Skin Cancer Treatment

This is what a skin cancer legion can look like, and it's what both Lynn Riley and Ronnie Shelley saw on their skin which made them rush to see a dermatologist.

"I was terrified because there were like five spots we knew we had to take off."

"I come to the doctor’s office because, I had a spot on my back and a place on my lip, and when got to looking Dr. Treen knew right off the bat and he did a biopsy."

And those spots are what Dr. Treen says you should never ignore.

"Anything that's larger than you can cover with the eraser end of a pencil is large enough to warrant an evaluation from a dermatologist."

And no one is exempt.

"Even darker skin types can get skin cancer and i have seen that."

There are hundreds of products to choose from when looking for the perfect sunscreen; but dr. Treen says you should always check the SPF value.

"I'm of the opinion that the higher the SPF the better and the reason for this is that SPF numbers are determined under laboratory conditions."

"In any drug store you can find products that protect you from the sun but few people realize that they also need protect their lips from the sun."

Lynn riley noticed something was wrong when she had a bump on her lip that would never go away.

"When it started it just looked like a pimple like a pinkish pimple, but it would never go away and i just thought it was a bad acne, never thought that much about it,

And never thinking much about a small bump could lead to deadly consequences.
Doctor treen advises people to not only apply sunscreen when initially going out in the sun, but he says you should re apply several times a day.

He also recommends wearing wide brim hats to prevent skin cancer near the temples of the forehead and lower neck area.
