A Japanese company is recalling more than six-million packages of frozen food, after a nationwide outbreak of food poisoning.

One-thousand people fell ill with vomiting and diarrhea, after eating food contaminated with the pesticide "malathion."

2.6 million times the permitted level was found in frozen croquettes.

Police investigated a plant owned by the manufacturer, Maruha Nichiro Holdings, and questioned 300 workers.
