DOTHAN, AL---It's not just play time in the pool for these ladies.
"In my class most students' doctors give them suggestions to join the water exercise," said Aquacise Instructor Ning.
"I was having some back trouble, arthritis and they said that would be the best exercise for me," said Aquacise student Jeanette Glover.
Aquacise is a fun filled water aerobics class that mixes exercise with a social atmosphere.
"I just enjoy the fellowship, the exercise is great it does your body so good you move every part of your body," said Glover.
The program is designed to get you up, and moving with the benefit of the water taking pressure off your joints.
"When I came to my first class I hopped in with a stick and I went out and I didn't need the cane the first time so I've just been hooked on it," said aquacise student Annie Newsome.
No prior experience or fitness level is required to participate.
"Our first two weeks, it's easy, then we move to advance and more faster," said Ning.
"It keeps you from getting sore. You can do almost anything in the water, at my age you wouldn't be able to do it otherwise."
The classes are held 3 times a week for 6 weeks and the entire course costs only $20.
The city of Dothan offers aquacise at Westgate indoor pool year-round... Wiregrass outdoor pool, and Walton outdoor pool during the summer.
