Alabama will receive about $11.4 million from a federal performance bonus for making Medicaid more accessible for eligible children in the state, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said today.
The bonus is part of $307 million the agency awarded to 23 states that improved access to health coverage for children. The federal government has given the bonuses each year since the Children's Health Insurance Program was reauthorized in 2009.
