There will soon be a new diet pill available to help some overweight people fight the battle of the bulge.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved the weight loss aid Belviq.
It reportedly tricks the brain into making a person feel full after eating small amounts of food.
The drug is approved for use in adults with a body mass index of at least 30, which is classified as obese.
Overweight adults who have at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol may also use it.
The medication is expected to be used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise.
