When it comes to preventing obesity, exercise doesn't have the same effect on African-American girls as white girls.
That's according to a new study published in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
Researchers say black girls are less responsive to the benefits of physical activity.
They looked at the exercise levels and food intake of more than 1,100 adolescent girls at age 12.
The study found black girls were more likely to be obese by age 14 than white girls.
