A new program aims to provide more health services in the Black Belt region of west Alabama.
Gov. Robert Bentley and other leaders will be in the Lowndes County town of Hayneville on Monday to promote a program called "Operation Alabama Black Belt."
The goal is to provide medical and dental services to residents of the impoverished, rural region.
Operation Alabama Black Belt begins May 1 in the towns of Hayneville, Demopolis and Selma. It will continue through May 10.
