A local retirement community has its doors open, helping individuals deal with the grief and loss of a loved one.
The Wesley Manor retirement home hosts a gathering once a month for everyone in the community who has suffered heartache. Eddie Biss from the Gentiva Hospice leads each session. The fellowship is a way for people to connect, develop and strengthen each other.
"We go over different phases, like today we are discussing the physical aspects of grief and how you may not sleep well and you may not function as you normally would with the loss of a loved one," said Nicki Sims, the activities assistant at the Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
Each session is held every third Thursday at 2:30pm in the Wesley Manor chapel.
