Study: Brain chemicals show levels of motivation

Whether you're a "slacker" or a "go-getter" could depend on the chemicals your brain releases.

According to a brain-imaging study, people who released dopamine in the part of the brain that influences reward and motivation were willing to work hard.

On the other hand, "slackers"- had high dopamine levels in the part of the the brain that influences emotion, and risk perception.

Researchers at Vanderbilt University hope their findings will help treat attention-deficit disorder, and depression.
