Blood Test could predict postnatal depression risk

Researchers in the United Kingdom are developing a simple blood test that may identify women at risk of postnatal depression.

The test checks for gene variants that have been associated with depression and stress.

Doctors hope this discovery will pave the way for new drug treatments for mothers likely to develop depression.
