British researchers say acupuncture could serve as an alternative to knee surgery for osteoarthritis.
In 2008, 90 patients with severe symptoms for osteoarthritis were given acupuncture treatments once a week and later every six weeks.
The patients showed improvements in pain levels, stiffness and functional capacity after just one month of treatment.
