Drinking Increases Stroke Risk

The risk of stroke appears to increase one hour after drinking just one alcoholic drink.

A study of about 400 patients found the risk of stroke doubled right after drinking beer, wine or liquor.

However, researchers note that moderate alcohol consumption can be protective in the long run and may outweigh the temporary risk.
