Obese Kids At Higher Risk For GERD

Obese children have a 30 percent higher risk of getting severe heartburn known as GERD.

A study of almost 700,000 kids found the heavier the child, the higher the risk.

Extremely obese kids were 40 percent more likely to develop the condition.

GERD can lead to respiratory problems and increases the risk for esophageal cancer.
