Troy University students are giving up a piece of their summer to make sure children with diabetes can enjoy theirs.

These guys made their way through Enterprise Tuesday, hiking from Troy, AL to Panama City, FL to raise awareness for type 1 diabetes.

It’s all in honor of a friend who has the disease.

Money raised from the hike will go to help send diabetic children to camp Seal Harris in Birmingham.

"That’s a camp for diabetic children with type 1 diabetes so they can have a normal camp experience, because it has to be tailored to them, so he worked there and we wanted to help that out,” says hiker Austin Bivins.

If you’d like to donate to the cause you can give them a call at (334) 354-8935 or donate directly on their website
