FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Health officials say one student from Edison State College in Lee County has tuberculosis.
Now, the college is working with the health department to notify all 46 people believed to have come in close contact with the student on campus. They will be asked to take a test for the bacterial infection that usually affects the lungs and can be transmitted through the air.
Lee County Health Department spokeswoman Jennifer James-Mesloh said her office does not have any information on where the student picked up the illness.
No details on the student's condition were available late Thursday.
