Hundreds of men showed up today for the annual Community Health Fair.

The free health day sponsored by Southeast Alabama Medical Center includes screenings for prostate, vascular, glucose, thyroid, vision, blood pressure and body fat analysis.

Two time super bowl winner with the San Francisco 49er’s and Dothan native Larry Roberts was on hand to autograph footballs and encourage men to be proactive about their health.
Robert’s says, “I found out the best way to tell one of your friends that you love them is to get them to have a screening. Get it done because it's no longer a macho thing where guys think oh it's not one of those things I want to do, it's a necessity. “

In 2006 more than 232,000 American men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 30,000 men died from it.
