Sugary Foods & Acne

A sugary diet may not be so sweet a new study shows a link between sugary food and acne.

Doctors from the Washington center for clinical research say teens who avoid milk and sugary foods are less likely to develop blemishes.

They say hormones or proteins found in milk may increase skin oil production, leading to pimples.

That's based on data from twenty-seven previous scientific studies. Doctors say sugary foods have a similar effect. Diets that is high in fiber, such as fruits and vegetables, decrease acne breakouts.

The study appears in April’s international journal of dermatology.
