Hopping on a train or riding the bus might make you more physically fit. Doctors at Canada’s university of British Columbia say transit users are three times more likely to meet fitness goals than people who use their cars.
The doctors looked at more than eighteen-thousand transit users in Atlanta for two consecutive days. The new study found the more people used their cars, the less physical activity they undertake.
Doctors used the heart and stroke foundation of the suggested daily minimum of thirty-minutes of moderate physical activity a day, five days a week. The study appears in the journal of public health policy.
