Pedometer Benefits

A lot of people use pedometers to record the number of steps they walk, but are they really getting exercise?

In a study on pedometer use, published in next month's issue of the American.

Journal of preventive medicine, researchers found a 3,000 step. Thirty minute walking routine was the best way to get people started on a positive exercise program.

Following a group of nearly 100 people, scientists recorded the participant's number of steps, while measuring their oxygen intake and heart rate. They found those who walked 100 steps per minute, benefited more from the walking health-wise, than those who took fewer steps.
