A new study out of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute found aspirin cuts the risk of death among post-menopausal women with heart disease or who had a stroke.
The study specifically focused on dosage.
Scientists found a lower dose -- just 81 milligrams -- is just as effective as a higher dose.
That's great news for women looking to take advantage of aspirin's heart benefit.
A well known possible side effect of aspirin is internal bleeding.
The study, which looked at data from nine-thousand women, appears in the journal "Circulation."
