Dr. Rube R. Hundley joins the Enterprise Medical Clinic
ENTERPRISE, Ala. – The Enterprise Medical Clinic welcomes Dr. Rube R. Hundley, urologist, to its team of dedicated physicians.
Dr. Hundley, an Enterprise native, brings more than 40 years of experience in urology to the clinic. He will begin seeing patients three days a week beginning October 5. The clinic, located at 101 Professional Lane, is a Joint Commission accredited facility of Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.
Dr. Hundley was raised on a farm where Shell Army Air Field is currently located. “I’m excited to be back in the town where I grew up,” he said.
Dr. Hundley, after leaving Enterprise, served six years in the Alabama Air National Guard, which included 15 months of active duty in the United States Air Force. He is a veteran Flying Medical Officer of the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.
He received his medical degree from Medical College of Alabama in Birmingham in 1959 and completed his internal medicine residency at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham. After two years in private practice, Dr. Hundley returned to school and completed a second residency in urology, also at Carraway Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Hundley returned to the area in 1966 as a founding partner of Dothan Urological Associates.
He is past president of the Alabama Urological Society and the Houston County Medical Society. He has served as past president of the medical staff and Chief Surgery Department at Southeast Alabama Medical Center and Flowers Hospital.
He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an honorary professor at Kirov Medical Academy in Kirov, Russia, where he spends two weeks each summer training surgeons. He has a 14-year affiliation with the school.
In his spare time, Dr. Hundley enjoys hunting, fishing, working on his farm and operating his bulldozer.
