The downed economy could be impacting some women’s decisions to have children.
Birth rates dropped in 2009 for the second year in a row since the recession began. The CDC estimates roughly 4 million children were born, down 2.6 percent from the 2008 estimate.
Besides finances, experts say a decline in immigration to the U.S. could also be to blame.
